Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains how free trials, subscriptions, add-ons, cancellations and refunds work for SROUK and Self Representation.
1. Free trial
We may offer a 14-day free trial for Self Representation.
The free trial may require card details upfront through Stripe. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected paid plan may begin automatically and your card may be charged.
Please cancel before the end of the trial period if you do not want to continue onto a paid subscription.
2. Paid subscriptions and add-ons
SROUK may offer paid subscriptions, add-ons or additional paid features. Prices, billing periods and included features will be shown before payment.
Subscriptions are usually billed in advance and may renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Add-ons may be billed separately, either as recurring charges or one-off charges, depending on the option selected.
3. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, where available, or by contacting Support@Self-Representation.org.uk.
If you cancel a paid subscription, access to paid features will usually continue until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund amounts already paid.
4. Refund approach
SROUK provides digital software access. Once digital access has started, refunds are not normally provided simply because you changed your mind, forgot to cancel, no longer need the service, or did not use the account.
However, we may consider refunds fairly and at our discretion where appropriate, including where:
- You were charged in error.
- You cancelled before renewal but were still charged.
- A serious technical issue prevented reasonable access to the paid service and we were unable to resolve it.
- Duplicate billing occurred.
- There are other fair and reasonable grounds for a discretionary refund.
Refunds may be refused where the paid service has been accessed or used, where the request is abusive or unreasonable, where the issue is outside our control, or where the user failed to cancel before renewal.
5. Digital access and consumer rights
Self Representation is a digital software service. When you start using digital content or digital services, cancellation and refund rights may depend on what was agreed at checkout, whether access has started, whether you are a consumer or business user, and any legal rights that apply.
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
6. Failed payments
If a payment fails, access to paid features, add-ons or workspaces may be paused, restricted or cancelled until payment is updated.
We may notify you before restricting access where reasonably possible, but we are not responsible for loss of access caused by failed, expired, blocked or declined payment methods.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund, contact Support@Self-Representation.org.uk and include:
- Your name and account email address.
- The payment date and amount.
- The subscription, plan or add-on involved.
- The reason for your refund request.
- Any relevant screenshots, payment references or cancellation confirmation.
We aim to review refund requests fairly and respond within a reasonable time.
8. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue.
Where a chargeback or payment dispute is opened, we may suspend account access while the dispute is reviewed.
9. Changes to this Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page.
