Free Settlement Calculator Tool
This page contains two calculators that work together to help you estimate the value of your employment claim.
You can use either calculator on its own, but they are designed to make things as easy as possible even if you do not know exact figures.
1. Quick Settlement Estimator (Simple Mode)
Use this section if you don’t know exact amounts and just want the tool to figure out the numbers for you.
Step 1 — Tell us how you’re paid
Choose either:
Annual salary
Hourly rate
Then enter:
Your salary or hourly rate
Your average weekly hours
(These allow the tool to calculate your weekly pay and daily pay automatically.)
Step 2 — Tell us roughly what you think you’re owed
Enter:
How many weeks you weren’t properly paid
How many weeks of notice pay you should have received
How many days of holiday you believe were still owed
(These can be estimates — exact accuracy is not required.)
Step 3 — Add pension (optional)
Tick the box if you want the tool to estimate 8% pension loss on these amounts.
Step 4 — Review your automatic estimate
The Simple Mode instantly calculates:
Estimated unpaid wages
Estimated holiday pay
Estimated notice pay
Estimated pension loss
Total of all estimates
Step 5 — Send your estimates into the Full Calculator
Click “Use these estimates in the full calculator”
This will automatically fill the relevant boxes in the detailed calculator below.
2. Employment Tribunal Settlement Calculator (Full Mode)
Use this section to get a complete settlement estimate and full breakdown.
You can:
Edit the figures that came from Simple Mode
Enter your own figures manually
Add additional losses the simple tool cannot calculate
Step 1 — Review or enter your financial losses
Fill in (or check):
Unpaid wages
Unpaid holiday pay
Notice pay
Loss of earnings to date
Future loss of earnings
Pension loss (manual or from Simple Mode)
Injury to feelings (if applicable)
Other expenses or losses
Step 2 — Apply adjustments (optional)
You can fine-tune the settlement estimate with:
ACAS uplift (0–25%) if your employer failed procedure
Risk / contribution deduction (0–100%)
Settlement discount (0–100%) for realistic negotiation ranges
The calculator updates instantly as you type.
Step 3 — Review the full breakdown
The Full Mode displays:
Base compensation
ACAS uplift amount
Risk deduction amount
Subtotal
Settlement discount
Final suggested settlement figure
This final figure is also shown at the top inside Simple Mode.
Step 4 — Save or print your results
Click “Print this calculation” to save or print a PDF.
Figures are saved automatically in your browser.
When you return to the page later, your numbers will still be there.
Step 5 — Reset if needed
Click “Clear & reset” to wipe the calculator and start again.
3. Important Notes
You do not need exact data — estimates are fine.
Both calculators save your entries so you don’t lose your progress.
You can move back and forth between Simple Mode and Full Mode at any time.
You can edit everything manually even after auto-filling.
Quick Settlement Estimator (Simple Mode)
If you are not sure about exact figures, use this quick tool. Enter simple information like your pay, age, dates and roughly how many weeks or days you think you are still owed. We will estimate unpaid wages, holiday pay and notice pay for you. If you do not know your pay details because you were exploited or not told properly, you can tick the box below and we will use at least the legal minimum wage for your age.
If you tick this, we will estimate using at least the National Minimum Wage for your age and a typical working week, based on any dates and hours you can provide.
Tick this if your employer should have been paying into a pension on your behalf and you want to include a basic estimate of pension loss.
